I challenge all highly educated individuals posting here to bring answers for the DISD system. Put it on the table (post it here) or run for board membership. Really, this is the same circle of problems all over again from the last session. Is there something with people of this blog that would explain why none of us gets it? This situation with our tax dollars being spent, for things like spanish speaking teachers, means there is no plan. To speak english secondary to spanish that's fine but when will spanish speakers start to teach english only speaking parents for free? We don't mind the influx but at least make sure what the pre-existing student body is still in the loop and programs offered don't just benefit the spanish speaking student/parents, like Jump Start really does unless you complain. Stop taking funding, shifting, and accomdating spanish speakers. Make a new tax for it. I want the same education as in the past. Actually, since I pay higher taxes now than in past, I want better! Where's mine? How do I withhold my tax dollars from Spanish DISD to protest? Really, I also want special classes to be held so that I can understand my children's teachers at parent confrence nights. I would also like my tax dollars to pay for my next move, so that I can keep up with the ever changing structure of the DISD school system, anticipating my kids will have to change schools to have english speaking teachers. As they are moved around like puppies, since there will be fewer of the English only teachers, I want my tax dollars to cover the moving expense. DISD + no backbone = deep pockets to be relined. Wow, I just can't imagine, no one really smart person saw this coming. Or could someone have given us a bit of honesty? It's o.k. though, right now my kids are learning a bunch about what bad management and untrustworth people do. Any one up to the challenge?

O.k., so for DISD if a person is not "totally" out of their mind, which that can be debated until the cows fly, they live in district, or get waivered like current acceptable habit, have been in the area of the district for the specified time, then, have simply registered, not cast, to vote, they are good to go.
Kinda answers some of my questions about the decisions DISD has made and considered sane. They were not "totally" insane, right!

I am currently seeking information regarding the "public notice" which is supposed to occur for announcing the class which the candidate should attend. I'm going to give that information here as when available and confirmed.
If you answered Yes, Yes, and, Yes. Then we're good to go for election. We can keep identity secret too, until necessary. This too is the way of DISD.

I guess the only requirement to run is that you are in sound mind, a citizen and resident of the area and a registered voter. I called the director of the Board services at the 3700 number and there is no one to talk to, and I left a few messages.

I know what you mean Open Minded! You are so right on. I have been talking to the most locally influential neighbor I have, and we DO NEED to get a great candidate to take over the Leigh Ann seat! Personally I could do a great job ob the board. I have excellent experience and integrity and have personally suffer from the DISD mafia methods. I am so passionate about all this it completely consumes me.

I will post as I get time. Now I am preparing for the district order to deposition me because I am speaking out about the lies and inappropriate education and refusing to service, the DISD does to everyone!

Please stand up and run for school board. Anyone will be better than those idiots that are on there now. I have lost respect for almost all of them.
Where do I look to find out what it will take to run for election to be on the board.

I am waiting to see the replies, you see, most of the mouth action has had very little effect. Thank you for putting your foot into the door... Run... Please...while the door is ajar! Has the DMN posted when the required class is to take place for running? I can't get hold of that, seems you have to be an insider to get what is really happening in DISD. Parents are feed old late information, and hand holding BS, which is considered to be the best DISD can offer. If we need to group and hire a private detective to gather all the flying BS then compile it so that we parents could get a breifing of what has just occured (that which we won't hear about for months, or at least until after the fact). The powers at present do not conduct open public information in the planning stages of anything, there has been "the meeting which was" in everything discussed with parents on the issues that have robbed us of the funding for our childrens education. Then the powers at present who could step in and, at the minimum, for public protection are waiting for something even bigger to happen before action is taken. The very first time I spoke before the board, I said to them we didn't need to chase problems and be a reactive schoold district, we need to be pro-active and plan ahead with problems being thought out ahead of time then when other issues arrise we are not in an emergency situation. All I ever heard from Ms. Ellis was that she wants our schools to be just like China. I don't understand why we can't just be like good old America. Mom of 2, your heart is on the mix. Go for to position and just let me know what help you need to get you there.
