Fake SSN's

I am beginning to think that the only competent people at DISD are the people actually involved with students.

Certainly the majority of the DISD continues to be out-to-lunch. When you think that DISD's management can't look any more stupid than they have in past scandals, then we greeted with the announcement about DISD assigning fake social security numbers.

Obviously, being superintendent of one of the largest school districts in the country only means that maybe the individual knows something about education and all of the local, state and federal rules pertaining to education.

What I want to know is who approved the hiring of these 700 spanish speaking teachers from Spain? The only individual, who could have approved this is Hinojosa himself.

Why was there an exemption for all spanish speaking teachers, when it came time to deciding which teachers were going to be laid off?

Whether DISD was in need of more spanish speaking teachers is NOT the question. If, as I suspect, Hinojosa initiated and approved the hiring of these 700 teachers, then it looks like the real objective was the ethnic cleansing of non-spanish speaking teachers no matter what their records or accomplishments were.

This is immoral and reprehensible.

Hinojosa must be held accountable.

Why do we need social securiity numbers?

Social Security Numbers were never meant to be used for identification purposes. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/ssn.htm
However, agencies such as the IRS and Banks misuse the number for identification purposes.

As you already know... social security will be bankrupt in 2042. http://www.whitehouse.gov/cea/three-quest-soc-sec.pdf

So why do we allow this agency to operate at all?

We assign people numbers just like the nazi's did to the jews and we call it social security.

For some reason I don't feel very secure.

It seems we are promoting this Orwellian system in the guise of accountability.

The Social Security Administration has consistently stated as follows:

"The Social Security Act does not require a person to have a Social Security number (SSN) to live and work in the United States, nor does it require an SSN simply for the purpose of having one."

Take a look at question 3 from http://www.apfn.org/apfn/ssn.htm
3. Question: Can I give some other number when I am asked to provide an SSN?
Answer: Yes, with caveats.

Government Agencies:
Giving ANY false information to a government agency for any reason may result in prosecution, fines, and even imprisonment. Title 42 U.S. Code, section 408 imposes fines and penalties for misuse of social security numbers. Title 18 U.S. Code, section 1028 imposes criminal penalties and fines for misuse of government documents. It is a violation of one or more federal laws to make a misrepresentation to a federal agency.

Private Businesses:
A person may arrange by agreement with a private concern, business, or enterprise to use a substitute number other than a social security number, but it should be made clear that the number being used is not an SSN.

DISD is not a Federal Agency.

So if any agency or business entity insist on using your Social Security number for identification purposes, they are in violation of Title 42 U.S. Code, section 408.

If you want to give an alternative number to a federal agency, you must consult that agency and declare that the number you are giving them is not a SS#.

The whole thing feels like fascism to me.

Just tell me when we get to 666 so that I can make arrangements.

700 Teachers from Spain???

There were not 700 teachers hired from Spain. Perhaps you mean that there were approximately 700 total teachers hired this year/summer, but fewer than 20 were from Spain.

DITTO

I am beginning to think that the only competent people at DISD are the people actually involved with students.

How low does Hinajosa want to go?

There are limits of toleration, acceptance, and willingness to work with, and for, folks when they need time to work out the bugs or kinks, but this is a group of criminals. Question is why are they being allowed to walk all over the law and we aren't hearing about a District Attorney or State Official taking action? Are they collecting evidence and investigating behind scenes? DA, what's up man?

This is criminal!

This is immoral and reprehensible. DITTO

Hinojosa must be held accountable. DITTO

DAMN IT, DITTO! DO SOMETHING TEXAS!!!!!!!

Ethnic Cleansing

It's been the plan for a while. Little by little. Everyone sees it. I don't even want to think about how it will be in 5 years. I'm just grateful, that by then I will have another graduating, but also no more kids in DISD. By then, all those playing their games down in Central Office will be long gone. Steve Flores got smart and left. Hadn't seen him connected with anything...yet. It all comes back around.

Dr. Hinojosa -- my parents always said, "When you hang with the wrong people, they'll drag you down with them. Some of your statements perceive you as someone that doesn't know what the departments downtown are doing. It's your job to know, but yet your statements say otherwise. Are you really that clueless, with the company you keep. If you left, they would all folow, cause you are their security. Correction, you and Jack. If the the authorities doesn't do something about the social security issue. There is no justice.

DISD needs to be reorganized with a new management structure

DISD needs a CEO with top management skills. Then the "superintendent's salary can be downgraded and he can handle educational issues.

Unfortunately, being a ISD superintendent and being a good manager are an incompatible combination.

Another mindset incompatibility appears to be getting the DISD board of trustees and DISD itself to understand that they should be representing the best interests of DISD and not trying to see how their companies or their families or friends can pick DISD's pockets.

Jack Lowe and the majority of the DISD board that voted to approve the "new" ethics rules should be ashamed of themselves.

Fortunately, we have Carla Ranger and a couple of others on the board, who understand why the new ethics policy is a huge conflict of interest.
